Implementing strategy workshop.

Target market

Any group who needs to be involved in implementing your strategy. This could include those who were involved in creating the strategy, and those who were excluded from the process.

Course objectives

  • To communicate the new vision and strategy to those who may not have been involved in developing it.

  • To provide a forum for the group to voice their concerns and discuss new opportunities resulting from the strategy.

  • To get the group to 'buy in' and feel positive about the new strategy.

  • To get the group to develop a common vision or understanding of what implementing the new strategy will mean to the company and to themselves.

  • To get the group to understand the changes that will be required to implement the strategy successfully. (i.e. cultural and paradigm changes.)

  • To develop projects to begin practically implementing the strategy.

  • To develop practical action plans to begin implementing the projects.

  • To do this in a way that empowers people, and makes them feel positive

Course contents

  • Building a climate for a successful strategy implementation workshop.

  • What makes strategy implementation fail?

  • What makes strategy implementation work?

  • Creativity and paradigms. Their role in successful strategic implementation.

  • Communication the new strategy

  • Groups assess the new strategy using left brained and right brained thinking. (logical and emotional thinking.)

  • Expanding the vision.

  • Developing new opportunities from this new vision.

  • Identifying organisational /divisional strengths and how they can be used to exploit these new opportunities.

  • Identifying the cultural and paradigm changes that will be required to successfully implement the new focus using the change puzzle.

  • Groups complete the change puzzle for their organisation / division today.

  • Groups complete the change puzzle of the future.

  • Explaination on how to choose core changes.

  • Groups identify core changes they think should be made to successfully implement their new focus.

  • Creation of project teams to work on the priority core changes.

  • Groups identify action plans for their projects.
